The Three Faiths

THE VIRTUOUS MARTERDOM
Across the land they meet | the weeping martyrs
Shrines and cathedrals | they raise on high
Alters they set and | sacrifice to the absent one
Love they have | for fear and shame

BLACK SQUARE PROCESSION
In their dwelling place | they rule from tables
Of gold no lack | do these rulers know
Of palace, and guards, liquor, and scribes
What then orbits the Black Square

EPIPHANY OF DEAD EARTH
Faith it is not |of songs there are none
Of meanings few, a dim candle | so is life
To walk the earth | till laid in mold
is the chore of blind-men | before they rot

The Old Faiths
What of the burning of the great libraries
What of the purging of the Druids
What of the desecration of those ancient temples
Rebuilt now, in mockery
Few now are left to tell the old stories
And the truths of where we come from
